Michael Sanders wins the 1st Annual Holcomb Open Comp Championship Series finishing with 440 points to runner-up Larry Geddes' 280 points.
Joe Stewart of Raleigh, N.C. set a new True Blue Performance Mod Motor Shootout ET record with a blazing 10.67 @ 132 mph in his supercharged 1996 Cobra. Unfortunately the stock long block engine didn't last and James Tarain of Rougemont NC took the win with a 11.49 @ 120.57 in Reggie Burnette's supercharged Cobra.
In Saturday's 1/8th mile 10.5 shootout, Timmy Carter of Sevin Springs N.C. was low qualifier and winner. His low ET was 5.68 @ 126.36 mph. This class is limited to cars with stock rear suspension, 10.5" tires (no W's), any motor or trans is ok, mufflers are required.
Sundays's winner in the 1/8th mile 10.5 shootout was Douglas Bowles with a 6.42. Low ET on Sunday was Stacy McIntyre's 5.90 @ 118.31.
